Bio Data

Martin Arnaldo was born in the Philippines and raised in France. He then studied in the United States (Boston College) and England (Mansfield College, Oxford University). After graduating summa cum laude in philosophy, he started a doctorate program under the novelist Milan Kundera at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales. He then studied film at l'Ecole Supérieure de Réalisation Audiovisuelle (Paris).

Martin Arnaldo works both in Asia and Europe. In Asia he is an in-house commercial director for Unitel Productions. His latest credits include commercials for Caltex, Globe, Starburst, Mc Donalds, Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Lift, Philip Morris, Pizza Hut, Sara Lee, NU 107. Several of these ads have received awards at the Creative Guild Awards, and the ARAW awards.

In Europe (France), his directorial credits include industrial films, a commercial for "Fruit et Fibres", and short films. Project BW, a 35mm black and white animation short film using motion capture, was selected at the 1998 Imagina Festival and was featured at the MITIC during the 1998 Cannes Festival. Teou, his most recent short film (June 2001) is being distributed by Canal Plus France, Canal Plus Belgium), TV Man Union (Japan), WTN (Canada) Radio Televisao Portuguesa (Portugal) and is shortlisted at Estavar llivia 2001 (France), Raindance Film Showcase 2001 (London), the 18th Dokumentarfilm- & Videofest in Kassel 2001 (Germany), the 31st Rotterdam International Film Festival.
